Good Morning! You know something good is coming up the pike when you see the picture of Toinie, my 66 Red Eye at the top of the post! Yes, it’s that time again — more pattern testing!
I’ve had a lot of interest in the Mystery Pattern Tester Contests that we’ve done so far, but very few people have been entering to test in contrast to the number of people viewing the posts.
I’ve been really thinking about how to get more people involved with this. One thing that came to me was a memory of my time in court reporting school. I was having a very difficult time, and I recognized that if something isn’t working, you need to hurry up and change it to jump over the next wall!
So we’re changing it! I want to see if people might feel more comfortable entering a fun contest like this knowing what it is they are going to be making. Let’s give it a go and see how it works out!
I am going to be revealing the pattern right here at the end of this post!
Some of the details first: I would like to select one winner to test my next PDF sewing pattern and tutorial! I am hoping to receive feedback as to how I can improve my pattern/accompanying literature, pictures of finished product(s) of all sizes included in the pattern, how long it took you to complete the pattern, what you consider your sewing level to be (beginner, intermediate, advanced), and your thoughts on what you would expect to pay for a pattern of this type/quality.
I expect photos of completed project and feedback by Friday, February 13th, 2015. (That gives you a full week to go shopping for fabric, if you need to, and complete project.) And I’m me, so I will probably check in with you mid-week to make sure that everything printed okay and that everything is going well and you’re not having any difficulty with the pattern.
Contest starts now and ends Friday, February 6th, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
I will try my best to announce winner by 5:30 p.m.
This particular pattern should take no longer than an hour to complete (per size) and requires about 2/3 yard of fleece in two separate fabrics as well as felt, and a small amount of Velcro.
For a chance to test, please leave a comment below. Active followers can get an additional entry by just commenting on a separate comment how you follow SewOldSchool. Comments left on the Sew Old School Facebook page will not be counted as entries. All entries must be entered below, on this post.
Once selected, I will email you the PDF and accompanying literature.
And here’s the big reveal:

Good luck!!

I’ve never been a pattern tester before but would love to try it. My toddler would definitely enjoy that hat!
