I guess the anticipation of my children meeting the day has me over-the-top excited! I am up earlier now as a parent than I was as an anxious child on Christmas Day!

This year is the first year that my sweet two-year-old gets what is happening this morning. It’s also the first year that I will be hosting Christmas dinner – all organic, too, which I am so thankful for! I just love traditions, and I’m really happy to have this year be the start of something really special for our family.

The kids have been feverishly screening movies this past week to select the perfect one for us to watch together as a family after dinner tonight. They have decided on The Polar Express. I haven’t seen it yet, but I will make it a point to stop cooking, cleaning, and hosting to cuddle them up on the couch and watch.

Like I said, I love creating new traditions, and this morning marks the start of many.

The gifts are staged, we baked all of our cookies, my late grandmother’s music box that she gave my daughter just before she passed is set where she would sit if she were here, the cookies and milk left out are gone, and I wait (sort of) patiently for my little angels to wake up to greet this beautiful day.
